Locations are the sites where you pick up, drop off, or do work.
Who can add locations?
- Pro: for clients you created yourself, and for connected clients who approve you to request jobs.
- Guest: not available. Ask your client to add the location.
Only admins can create locations. Coordinators can edit a location's status and description. If a coordinator needs to create locations, give them the Admin role.
Who owns a location? Set the owner as the client who uses the location. Only list your own company as the owner for sites you actually own, like your yard. Add midstream sites, like saltwater disposals, under your client.
To add a location in the Admin Portal:
- Click the Locations tab.
- Click New.
- Enter a Name and Location type.
- Enter a Status and Description (optional).
- Check the Company. It defaults to your company, so change it to your client if the site is theirs.
- Select a Parent location and Geofence (optional).
- Enter the Latitude and Longitude (optional, but recommended).
- Click Save.
Important: Add coordinates to every location. Without them, the location won't show on the map, and you won't be able to edit it from Field View.
Other ways to add a location
- While creating a job: click the location field and select Add New Location.
- In Field View: right-click the map or click New location, then select the hub of the company the location is for.
Location Tags group locations under one label, such as a county, state, or region. A Rate Agreement linked to a tag applies to every location with that tag.
Client syncs their locations? Some clients send their locations to IronSight automatically. For those clients, don't add locations yourself. Ask the client to add any missing sites.
