The first time you open IronSight, your phone asks for a few permissions. Here's what each one does and why it matters.
| Permission | Choose | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Always (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android) | Lets your dispatcher see your progress and creates trip reports, even when the app is in the background. Tracking only happens while you're on duty. |
| Precise Location | On | Gives your exact location instead of an estimate, so the right site is recorded. |
| Motion & Fitness | Allow | Saves battery by pausing tracking when you haven't moved in a while. |
| Notifications | Allow | Tells you about new jobs, changes, and messages right away. |
| Photos & Media | Allow when asked | Lets you add photos and files to jobs. The app only accesses the files you choose. |
Already said no to a permission? You can change it in your phone's settings:
- iPhone: Settings → Apps → IronSight → Location. Select Always and turn on Precise Location.
- Android: Settings → Apps → IronSight → Permissions → Location. Select Allow all the time and turn on Use precise location.
