Products and services are your price book: the work and billable items your team adds to jobs, like hours, fuel, or equipment. Once they're set up, your team can pick them from a list on any job, on the web or in the app.
📌 Where are Activities? Service Providers don't have an Activities tab. Activities, like Haul to Disposal, describe the type of work on a job and are set up in each client's hub. Your side of the job, meaning the work and charges you bill for, is managed here.
Need an activity added or changed? Ask your client, or contact IronSight Support.
To add a product or service:
- In the Admin Portal, click the Products / services tab.
- Click New.
- Enter a Name. This is what your field workers see, so make it descriptive.
- Select the Type that fits best.
- Enter a Default rate, or leave it at $0 if there isn't one.
- Under Price Book, select the client hub this item is for (optional). Both you and the client can then edit it.
- Select the Resource types it applies to (optional).
- Select a Unit of measure (optional).
- Set start and end dates if the rate is only valid for a certain time, such as a seasonal rate (optional).
- Add a Description (optional).
- Click Save.
Tip: After adding new items, field workers may need to close and reopen the app to see them.
Adding items in bulk
You can add or update many items at once with a CSV file. This is also how you keep your price book in sync with another system, such as QuickBooks.
- Click Export to download a CSV template.
- Fill in one row per item, following the rules below.
- Click Import, then Choose File, and select your CSV.
- Click Upload.
- To check the results, click the History tab, or click View Progress.
Before you import:
- Location names and tags must already exist in IronSight. The import can't create them.
- Each row is checked on its own, so one bad row won't stop the others.
Tip: Leave the $ sign out of the Rate column. It's the most common reason imports fail.
